Jennifer Lawrence at ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ premiere: Fashion hit or miss? (TIFF 2012)

By now, Jennifer Lawrence is a pretty familiar face. She was around the Toronto International Film Festival last year for the romance "Like Crazy," made a huge impression at the Oscars with 2010's "Winter's Bone," and let's not forget the little novel-to-movie franchise that is "The Hunger Games." Yup, you know who we're talking about.

So it must take quite a dramatic look for us not to recognize her, right? Well, at the TIFF 2012 premiere of her new film "The Silver Linings Playbook," in which she plays a troubled girl who befriends a similarly-troubled man (Bradley Cooper), Lawrence debuted a dark, dramatic, high-fashion look that had us doing a double take.

The actress' deep-hued strapless Christian Dior Haute Couture gown was definitely high fashion, looking more like a piece of art than a piece of clothing. On its own, it could easily be the star of the film, overshadowing Bradley Cooper, Robert DeNiro, and even Lawrence herself! But the biggest shock was her stick-straight, chocolate locks, which she had to dye for the upcoming "Hunger Games" sequel, "Catching Fire." Forgive us for being taken by surprise!

It's the complete opposite of the beachy, sandy-blonde waves that she rocked so well until very recently. Coupled with heavy dark pink lips, the down-to-earth star looked uncharacteristically severe.
