Yahoo Movies 'Yellowstone' Fans Have A Lot of Feelings About the Latest 'Y: 1883' Cast Member Reveal

Paramount+ has added another huge name to the all-star cast of 1883.
The Yellowstone prequel, which premieres on December 19, follows the Dutton family's origin story as they journey west to stake their claim in Montana. The blockbuster cast already includes Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott, and now Billy Bob Thornton will be joining their ranks.
Faith and Tim will portray the Dutton family matriarch and patriarch, Margaret and James Dutton. Sam will take on the role of cowboy Shea Brennan. Billy Bob, whose famed acting career includes Sling Blade, Goliath, Monster's Ball, Armageddon, and so much more, will take to the small screen as Marshal Jim Courtright. The Duttons tend to find themselves on the wrong side of the law, so we wouldn't be surprised if they find an adversary in Marshal Courtright!
The Academy Award-winning actor starred alongside Tim in the 2004 movie Friday Night Lights, and Tim is excited to work alongside Billy Bob again. And he isn't the only one who is pumped about the news.
Tim announced the news on Instagram with the caption, "So cool to have Billy Bob Thornton join 1883!! We worked together on Friday Night Lights….can’t wait to team up on this one!"
One fan wrote, "😮 omg. This is going to be so good 👏," and another said, "This is going to be the best show on TV!!!" Another fan wrote, "This is going to be epic!!!!" Actress Rita Wilson chimed in with, "Thats excellent news."
