Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism Hosted an Event in Beijing, to Promote Tourism Resources to Foreigners in China

Beijing, China--(Newsfile Corp. - August 9, 2022) - On August 6th, 2022, The " Dazzling Xiamen Summer " Tourism Promotion Event was held in Beijing. The event, hosted by Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, invited 150 attendees from 46 different countries and regions, who work, study, or live in Beijing.

The themes of the event were "Observing Xiamen", "Hearing Xiamen", and "Feeling Xiamen". During the event, through fascinating tourism photo galleries, magnificent promotional videos, astonishing folk performances, and innovative products, the Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism displayed four types of life in Xiamen, the Tea-Tasting Life, The Coastal Life, The Cultural Life and The Delicacy Life. Through the event, attendees were immersed in a unique "Xiamen Experience", and they were able to see the city of Xiamen from many different dimensions and fall in love with Xiamen.

This event included a variety of activities, such as traditional Chinese tea tasting and an excellent palm puppet performance. A trio from Argentina, Russia, and Romania performed the songs, "The Wave of Gulangyu '' and "The Summer of Xiamen," transporting the audience into Xiamen's fantasy dream. The song, "Xiamen on My Mind," written by a Singaporean and composed and performed by a duo from the United States and South Africa, brought the event to its grand finale. All attendees sang and danced to the music, feeling the spirit of Xiamen in every note. This is Xiamen, a place where dreams come true.

More Precise and Targeted International Promotion

Promotional events targeted towards international people are usually held in their home countries. Such promotional events not only incur high costs, but also reach a relatively small number of people. This time, the promotion is aimed at international residents in Beijing, who are both tourists and bridge builders between their home country and China.

This, combined with the domestic location of the event in China, allowed for a lower cost and highly effective promotional event. The event hosted so many international attendees, all of which work, study, or live in Beijing. The attendees come from 46 countries including the United States, Russia, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Australia, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Pakistan, Romania, Albania, Philippine, Myanmar, Nepal, Ethiopia, Egypt, Syria, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, Congo, Botswana, Bolivia, Uganda, Costa Rica, Malawi, Cameroon, Angola, United Arab Emirates, Ecuador, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, South Sudan, Mali, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Algeria, Eritrea, South Korea, and Japan. The international attendees and Chinese attendees living in other countries include people working in business, finance, sports, education, music, and include students and influencers, which makes the promotion more targeted. This is also by far the largest tourism promotion event for international residents in Beijing in 2022.

Cultural fusion and experiences are the highlights of Xiamen tourism that attract international visitors. Fujian Tea has a long history and is an iconic symbol of Fujian and Xiamen. During this event, attendees experienced the charm of Xiamen's Tea Culture through watching exquisite live tea performances, hearing and observing the Kungfu tea making procedure, and tasting tea served by tea masters. Also, the Xiamen local puppet show and the live performances of the songs, "The Wave of Gulangyu" and "The Summer of Xiamen", further immersed participants in Xiamen's cultural environment. "International tourist localizing promotion" will be an important route for international tourism promotion, as well as an important representation of Xiamen tourism's unique "global localization" promotion. This is one of the key future trends of the international promotion of cultural tourism.
