X-Men: Apocalypse: First Look At The Blob

There’s not long until ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ reaches cinemas, so what better time for director Bryan Singer to unveil the first look at The Blob.

Singer shared via Instagram the first image of The Blob, who appeared to have been knocked out cold by Angel, in the aftermath of a cage fight.

Up until now it’s been unclear what significance The Blob would have in the upcoming sci-fi film, and it’s not even entirely certain whether the mutant character will be good or evil - but usually he’s of the villainous persuasion.

From the single image Singer’s teased us with, it appears he may be a familiar face on the cage fighting circuit. He’s dressed in boots and a somewhat matching outfit, but significantly he’s a number of wounds and bruises all over his body - brawling scars, perhaps?

The addition of The Blob isn’t the first he’s been seen in the ‘X-Men’ movie franchise, he did briefly appear in 2009′s ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, played by Kevin Durand. The hefty character’s known for having superhuman endurance and strength, and is said to be an immovable object (although we’re sure some of the X-Men will beg to differ).

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ is in UK cinemas from 18 May.
