WWE has cut Big Cass from its roster in a way that has lots of fans talking.

The sports entertainment company sent out a breaking news alert to the WWE Universe on Tuesday (June 19) announce that it had parted ways with the 'realest guy in the room', but fans immediately spotted something was missing.

WWE's news release simply read: "WWE has come to terms on the release of William Morrissey (Big Cass)."

With almost every WWE release in recent memory, the company includes an additional message wishing the departing talent well in their "future endeavors". Big Cass got no such well-wishes from WWE.

Big Cass hasn't yet addressed his departure from WWE on his Twitter account. His long-time tag team partner Enzo Amore was released from the company earlier this year following allegations of improper behaviour.

The New York-born superstar has since emerged as one of the top stars on WWE SmackDown Live, feuding with Daniel Bryan in recent weeks. This past weekend, he submitted to Bryan to lose his final WWE match at Money in the Bank.

Big Cass originally broke into sports entertainment back in 2009, and signed with WWE two years later. Paired with Enzo, the duo became stand-outs of the NXT development promotion, before being called up to the main roster in 2016.
