Wonder Woman Hiring As Many Women As Possible

Warner Bros. and DC have gone above and beyond to instil a feminine touch on ‘Wonder Woman’s’ upcoming production.

Not only did they hire Michelle MacLaren to direct the blockbuster, but when she dropped out they replaced her with Patty Jenkins. And this has continued into the other creative positions on the film too.

In fact, with Gal Gadot and Chris Pine due to begin filming ‘Wonder Woman’ with Warner Bros. and DC this November, producer Deborah Snyder has revealed that they’ve hired as many female members of crew as possible.

Snyder, who is the wife of ‘Man Of Steel‘ and ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ director Zack Snyder, made this admission at the Geena Davis Institute last week, via Screen Crush.

Snyder talked about the production of ‘Wonder Woman’, explaining, “We still wanted a female director and we found Patty Jenkins, who had the right vision and the same vision that we had for the character.”

She continued, “We’re really happy that we’re going to be going into production in November, it’s been a really great process. We’ve tried to hire as many female members of the crew as possible.”

It’s good to see that Warner Bros. and those in control of ‘Wonder Woman’ have tried to address the rather disgraceful statistics when it comes to women working in film.

Hopefully this will only be the beginning too. Because, while this is the first superhero film to be led by a female character, Warner Bros plan on turning it into a trilogy.

Gadot will make her debut as Wonder Woman in ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’, released on March 25, 2016, while her first solo adventure as the icon will then follow on June 23, 2017.
