Kremlin says new U.S. sanctions on Russian energy will destabilise global markets
The Kremlin said on Monday that the latest round of U.S. sanctions on the Russian energy sector risked destabilising global oil and energy markets, and Moscow would do everything possible to minimise their impact. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said it was clear that Washington was trying to undermine Russian companies. The U.S. Treasury imposed wider sanctions on Russian oil on Friday, targeting producers Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz, as well as 183 vessels that have shipped Russian oil.
