In a Tuesday morning interview on the Breakfast Club radio show, 30-year-old Rolling Papers 2 rapper Wiz Khalifa shared some unusual thoughts about eating bananas. Specifically, his fruit eating etiquette dictates that they must be broken in half — or you’re “sus.”
“You gotta break it in half, because if you bite into it, you sus,” Khalifa told host Charlamagne tha God, who responded, “Whaaa? It’s just a fruit.”
Khalifa went on to say, “I’m just trying to help you out bro. If you in public, pause, and you eating a banana, you gotta break it into pieces…”
Co-host Angela Yee said that she eats bananas, and Khalifa, laughing said, “You can eat bananas. It would probably get you more followers.”
Twitter had some thoughts about his comments, specifically that making gay jokes is not okay in 2018. Tesla owner and businessperson Elon Musk made similar comments about someone being “sus” recently, and subsequently apologized. (While sus is short for suspect and is generally used to mean shady or cagey, in both these instances it was used to refer to someone as gay.)
We gotta stop paying attention to manchildren like Wiz Khalifa. Being gay is not something to make the butt of your jokes. How is this hard to understand in 2018?

.@wizkhalifa‘s masculinity is so fragile that he’s telling straight men they shouldn’t eat bananas.
When I found out where he said this at…@breakfastclubam…it made sense: Trash was talking in a dumpster.

Also, many on the internet pointed out that it’s pretty stupid to cut out a healthy food like bananas.
Because men don’t need potassium? What about cucumbers, zucchini, and eggplants? Are those off the menu too? #FragileMen

Bananas are not only delicious, they’re extremely healthy. The fruit is rich in fiber, antioxidants, and several nutrients. A medium-sized banana contains about 105 calories and is a good dietary source of potassium and magnesium, two nutrients that are essential for heart health.
