Winter Storm Dumps Snow in Hamilton, Ontario

A winter storm dumped heavy snow across southern Ontario on Monday, January 17, stalling vehicles on multiple highways in the region.

Up to 60 cm (about 23.6 inches) of snowfall was expected in Toronto and its surrounding areas, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. Local reports said 38 cm (14.9 inches) had fallen in downtown Toronto, while 45 cm (17.7 inches) accumulated in North Etobicoke and Whitby.
