The shots came from a passenger in a moving vehicle, police said in a media release Friday.
It happened just after 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Tecumseh Road East and Howard Avenue.
"The adult was struck in the arm, while the child was hit in the left side of her face. Both suffered minor injuries as a result," police said.
Police released an image of a sedan with unique stickers on the back they say is the suspect vehicle.
They are looking for tips from the public to identify those responsible.
