Wilson trailer: Woody Harrelson is a very different kind of comic book hero

Though cinema's largely focused on the mainstream superhero tricks of Marvel and DC, there's a lot of potential material to be found in the comics world.

The graphic novels of Daniel Clowes, for example, who already saw his sharp, observant Ghost World transformed into the 2001 film starring Thora Birch and Scarlett Johansson.

His work Wilson has now also gotten the cinematic treatment, with Woody Harrelson stepping into the titular role as the misanthropic loner who reunites with his estranged wife (Laura Dern).

It's only then that he discovers he actually has a teenage daughter (Isabella Amara) he's never met, perhaps even promising him his one big shot at happiness.

The trailer arrives after the announcement Wilson will be screened as part of this year's Sundance London, which promises to bring over a handful of Sundance favourites, including A Ghost Story and The Big Sick.

Sundance London runs from 1-4 June, with Wilson hitting UK cinemas 9 June.
