Wildfire Breaks Out, Spreads to 270 Hectares in North-West Spain

A new wildfire has broken out and spread to 270 hectares in Carballeda de Valdeorras, Spain, as of August 10, according to local authorities.

The wildfire began on August 9 in the parish of Casaio, an area that experienced a wildfire in July.

Member of the BRIF (Forest Fire Reinforcement Brigade) based in Laza were battling the blaze and shared footage of the fire from the air and on the ground. In a Twitter post, a member of the team said: “Tonight’s work was carried out in very harsh conditions, the fire is still active and out of control,” according to an online translation.
