Too Much, created by Dunham and her husband Luis Felber, is a brand new rom-com series set to go into production in 2024.
The show follows a New York workaholic (Stalter) trying to recover from a broken relationship she thought was the one. She flees to London in order to escape her past in New York and create a new, isolated life for herself.
However, she soon meets Sharpe's Felix and they strike up an usual connection that's impossible to ignore. The series is set to explore relationships between Brits and Americans while musing on true love.
Dunham said: "This is a show that is very close to my heart – created with my husband Luis, cast with my favourite actors, the geniuses that are Meg and Will, along with a bevy of friends – and partnering again with Working Title, who are behind the romantic comedies that formed me."
She continued: "Netflix has been so deeply supportive of the vision, which is to create a romantic comedy that makes us root for love, brings joy, but also has the jagged edges of life."
Sharpe rose to acclaim with his role in the second season of The White Lotus, with fans clamouring for a third season of the HBO show. Creator Mike White recently gave fans an update on a potential season three, which won't be coming until 2025 at the earliest.
"I'm more than eager to get going. It's going to be supersized. It's going to be longer, bigger, crazier. I don't know what people will think, but I am super excited, so at least for my own barometer, that's a good thing – I'm super excited about the content of the season," White said.
