The United States has called out China for interfering in the Philippines' maritime operations and undermining regional stability, urging Beijing to stop "its dangerous and destabilizing conduct" in the South China Sea. The Philippines and China have traded accusations over a ramming incident at the weekend involving their vessels while Manila's vessels were on a resupply mission to Second Thomas Shoal where its soldiers are stationed in a deliberately grounded navy vessel. Sacramento Fire Department responded to a fire on Sunday morning in the same strip mall that was destroyed by flames days ago. KCRA3 photographers watched as the strip mall was torn down in the hours that followed the Sunday morning fire. According to city officials, the building was demolished because the city deemed it to be unstable and dangerous. Fire officials said because crews have been monitoring the building for the last several days, they don’t believe the fire was a reignition from the last one.
Oil prices inched higher on Monday, extending gains for a second session as U.S. efforts to replenish strategic reserves provided some support, although concerns of crude oversupply and softer fuel demand growth next year lingered.
