What Marvel Superhero Would Make the Best President? Chris Pratt and Benedict Cumberbatch Nominate Captain Marvel

Not overly enthusiastic about your ballot options in this year’s upcoming presidential election? While it will inevitably be Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump who takes the Oval Office after November’s vote, we couldn’t help but fantasize about an alternate timeline where some universally beloved figure could unite a divided nation, someone like… a Marvel superhero.

At Comic-Con this weekend, we asked the stars of Dr. Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Black Panther, and Spider-Man: Homecoming exactly that: Which Marvel superhero would make the best U.S. president?

There were some action heroes at odds (Chadwick Boseman argued for Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, while Tom Holland was not having it), some self-campaigning from Strange costar Chiwetel Ejiofor, and strong support from Chris Pratt and Benedict Cumberbatch for Captain Marvel, who had just put an exclamation point on Marvel’s panel when it was officially announced the MCU’s first female lead would be played by Oscar winner Brie Larson.
