Your Wealth Game Plan

was established in 2020 with a mission to help improve financial education for those who want to take their finances to the next level. Its program focuses on these three areas: Mind, Knowledge, and Strategy, which are used in building a solid foundation in mastering wealth and money. With that said, its founder,

Paul Yeo

, shares the secrets of how people could master the financial game:

  • Solving A Bigger Problem

Most clients who initially work with a financial planner will have maybe two or four meetings max with their financial planner. What they want is to solve a problem they have about money. But what they really want is to feel more in control with their money which gives them comfort and security that allows them to live the lifestyle they want. According to Paul, the biggest problem financial planners in Australia are facing now is the constant increase of administration work to satisfy the ‘compliance gods.' This takes time away from meeting with clients and increases the cost of providing advice. Paul shared,

"My clients have regular sessions with me once a week or once every two weeks. What is most important is for me to have regular interaction with my clients to reinforce the financial lessons and make lasting change."

  • The First Step Is Awareness

When it comes to money, one of the most empowering things anyone can do is get educated and take control of their destiny. Everyone has a ‘money story.' The Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, "Give me a child until he is 7, and I will show you the man." And this is also true with everyone when it comes to the subject of money. In his program, Paul tackles three areas of financial mastery; mind, knowledge, and strategy. Focusing on the mind, he takes his client through the journey to understand their "money blueprint." He explained,

"Most of what we do in our daily lives, our behavior so to speak, are unconscious. We learned this based on what we saw, what we heard, or specific incidents in our lives. We remember most when we remember how it made us feel.Because money is an emotional subject, most of our conditioning is sub-conscious, making us form certain relationships with money; whether it serves us or not. Understanding this and doing something about it is where true transformation happens. It is always exciting for me to see the shifts in my clients when they see their unconscious conditioning come to the conscious."

The first step is awareness. After that, people get to choose what they do from here.

  • To Financial Freedom And Beyond

Everybody wants to know whether investing in stocks, property, or crypto will help them become financially free. They want to know what to invest in or follow what others are talking about or doing. Whenever someone asks me about what they should be investing in, my default answer is, ‘It depends.' What is right for one person may not be for another

. The second biggest problem holding people back regarding their finances is not having a financial goal. The ‘cousin' to this problem is not being specific enough about our goals which also extends to goals in other areas of people's lives. "

Whatever goals we have, it almost always leads back to money. The biggest problem is not about goal setting. It is about who we are becoming. Every decision we make right now sets us on a trajectory toward who we are becoming. Will we be someone who is rich financially but inside is personally broke, or someone who is financially broke but is rich inside? How do we become rich both inside and outside? This is why I call myself a Financial Mentor; I am first a Life Coach whose specialty is in money. I invest a lot of money in myself, so I can become better for myself and my family first before helping others," said Paul.
