Hillerska is back, baby. It’s true, Sweden’s breakthrough YA series Young Royals returns to Netflix for its third and final season this March. You might be thinking that March still feels like a lifetime away, so in the meantime, Teen Vogue has you covered with an exclusive first look at the Young Royals season 3 trailer. Attend the tale of Wilhelm and Simon, and prepare yourself for the end.

Young Royals stars Edvin Ryding as Wilhelm, the Crown Prince of Sweden’s royal family, as he attends Hillerska boarding school, and Omar Rudberg as Simon, a fellow student whom Wilhelm falls in love with, causing Wilhelm to toe the line of royal duty and teenage love. Also on the periphery are Malte Gårdinger as August, Frida Argento as Simon’s sister Sara, and Nikita Uggla as Felice.

For those unfamiliar with the lore, let’s rewind it back. At the end of season 2, Wilhelm revealed to the world that he (as the Crown Prince, mind you) was in fact the boy captured in the (illegal) sex tape with Simon. Ryding shared with Teen Vogue back in 2022 that Wilhelm’s confession “symbolizes him following protocols saying what he's supposed to be saying and then him just going into a different direction and being completely honest.” And that was the moment in which season 2 cut to black, leaving us in agonizing suspense for over a year, until now.

In Teen Vogue’s exclusive first look, the trailer begins in the water — like all good MLM stories do — with Wilhelm and Simon spending precious time together in peace. Meanwhile, Felice and Sara so need to have a conversation, and August seems to have perfected his brand of Augustness. Even Hillerska is in trouble, this time around facing an investigation that could result in the school’s closure. But season 3 promises a changed world after Wilhelm’s confession. His speech has consequences, and the tension threatens to shatter everything. Can our Wilmon be happy for one second, please?

Young Royals will have a split premiere on Netflix this March — episodes 1 through 5 will drop on March 11, followed by the series finale on March 18. We wish all Wilmon truthers good luck for the week of suspense in between.
