John Stamos has been a staple of feel-good shows for a while (thinking of you, Uncle Jesse), and in 2021 he returned the small screen on Disney+ in the new series Big Shot.

Big Shot, which released this spring, stars Stamos alongside Yvette Nicole Brown and Jessalyn Gilsig and focuses on the ups and downs of a high-school basketball team as they adjust to the methods of their new coach (Stamos). Produced by ABC Signature for Disney+, Big Shot follows hot-tempered former NCAA basketball coach Coach Marvyn Korn (Stamos) as he’s forced to take a job coaching an all-girls high school basketball team. The ten-episode series will follow Korn’s efforts to realign his coaching tactics to a team of teenage girls, forcing him to learn about himself in the process. The series also stars Yvette Nicole Brown (Community) and Jessalyn Gilsig (Boston Public) alongside an ensemble cast of up-and-coming actors including Richard Robichaux, Sophia Mitri Schloss, Nell Verlaque, Tiana Le, Monique Green, Tisha Eve Custodio, and Cricket Wampler.

Big Shot follows a long tradition of heartwarming sports films and series from Disney, including Double Teamed, Full-Court Miracle, The Game Plan, Ice Princess, Safety, The Mighty Ducks, and The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.
