Watch Alex Trebek’s final posthumous episode of ‘Jeopardy’

On Friday, Alex Trebek hosted his final game of Jeopardy. The episode was broadcast exactly two months after the beloved game show figure died at the age of 80, following a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Trebek hosted Jeopardy for a record-setting 37 years and in his final show... well, it was business as usual. Reigning champ Yoshie Hill took on newbies Jim Gilligan and Cliff Chang.

As the game went on, Hill maintained a lead but faltered at a key moment with a clue from the “dog is my co-pilot” category.

And for his final “final Jeopardy” round, Trebek read out a clue from the category “Women and Science”: “Dr. Margaret Todd gave science this word for different forms of one basic substance; it’s from the Greek for ‘Equal’ & ‘Place.’

The answer: What is an isotope? Gilligan ended up winning the game although the episode concluded with a video tribute to Trebek, compiled from moments over his long career.
