Watch 49ers players react after ‘emotional game’ against Dallas Cowboys

The San Francisco 49ers took an early lead and held off a comeback attempt in the final minutes to beat the Dallas Cowboys 23-17 in their wildcard game on Sunday.

“It made for some good TV, I guess,” said 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

San Francisco led 23-7 going into the fourth quarter but Dallas scored 10 unanswered to make it a one-score game and had the ball with a chance to tie with 32 seconds left in the game. After running the ball with 14 seconds left, quarterback Dak Prescott was unable to stop the clock before time expired, ending the game.

“I’m just proud of the guys,” head coach Kyle Shanahan said, “even when they did hit some bad adversity, they found a way to win.”

The 49ers will now travel to Green Bay to play the Green Bay Packers in the divisional round of the playoffs at Lambeau Field.
