Yahoo Movies Walthamstow: Woman desperate for help finding ‘hit-and-run’ driver who nearly killed her partner
A woman has promised her boyfriend on life support in hospital since coming off his bike that she will get answers to his horror collision.
The 28-year-old was riding his e-bike on his usual journey from his girlfriend’s house in Walthamstow to his home in King’s Cross on September 20.
He was found in Broad Lane, Tottenham suffering serious head injuries after an apparent hit-and-run collision with a car at 9.30pm.
Police are hunting the driver of a red coloured hatchback that turned right out of Wakefield Road who could help their investigation.
The victim was rushed to hospital by air ambulance where he had life-saving brain surgery.
He remains on life support with an oxygen tube in his mouth unable to speak or give any information on the crash to his devastated partner and family.
His girlfriend, who waits by his hospital bedside for any signal he can give, told The Standard: “Everything is messed up.
“We don’t even know what happened. Police say that an Audi was waiting to turn right on Wakefield Road and they don’t know if the car crashed into him or he went into the car.
“I was angry at the driver but now I just want my boyfriend to recover. We’ve never been apart for this long.
“He was always looking left and right on his bike and is very safe but on that day he forgot his helmet. It was the unluckiest day of my life.
“In hospital I speak to him all the time. I tell him I’m there with him and I will be always. I tell him how much I love him and miss him.
“I feel horrible I can barely recognise him.”
She added: “If the driver could come forward it would mean answers to so many questions going through my mind. We want to say thank you to the amazing London Air Ambulance crew for saving him.
“He is so funny and he was always there for me.
“We promised to each other that we would be there no matter what. I’m keeping my promises.”
Scotland Yard said there have been no arrests.
DC Sam Rivers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “I really need help from the public to understand exactly what happened.
“We are particularly keen to hear from the driver of a red coloured hatchback that turned right out of Wakefield Road as the driver may have information that could assist our investigation.
“Similarly, if anyone else witnessed this incident or has footage we really need to hear from you as soon as possible.”
