Vote for The State’s Midlands high school boys golf player of the year

It’s time to vote for The State’s boys golf player of the year for Midlands-area high schools. Voting ends at noon Monday, May 30 and you can vote as many times as you like.

The winner will be announced along with The State newspaper’s all-area golf team next week.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun.

Boys golf nominees

Chase Cline, Chapin: Tied for fourth in Class 5A state tournament to earn all-state honors and helped the Eagles to runner-up finish.

Teddy Dunn, Gray Collegiate: Freshman won Region 3-2A tournament finished eighth in the Class 2A state tournament to earn all-state honors.

Burch Harrison, AC Flora: Co-captain of state champion Flora squad. Was medalist in Region 4-4A tournament and four other tournaments. All-state after finishing fifth in the 4A state championship. Named to SC vs. Canada team matches and will play in Watson Cup in Scotland this July. Named to North-South all-star matches and signed with High Point.

Adam Hunt, AC Flora: Was medalist in Class 4A Upper State tournament and was first in three other matches this year. Finished fourth in the 4A state tournament to earn all-state honors. Picked to play in Watson Cup in Scotland this July and has committed to play at Illinois.

Harrison James, Chapin: Was medalist of Class 5A Lower State championship and Lexington County championship. Finished 17th in 5A state championship tournament.

Winn McItrick, Camden: Finished fifth in 3A Lower State and was seventh in Class 3A tournament in earning all-state honors.

Roman Mullinax, Lexington: Sophomore was all-region and all-state after finishing seventh in Class 5A state championship.

Luke Sullivan, AC Flora: Co-captain of state champion Flora squad. Medalist in four tournaments this year and tied for second in Class 4A state championship in earning all-state honors for the second time. Selected to play in North-South golf matches and signed with South Carolina.
