The Voice UK viewers left outraged by Olly Murs' choice in the battles
The Voice UK continued with its last battles round in tonight's episode (February 27) and the coaches had some tough choices to make ahead of the semi-finals.
Olly Murs was faced with a difficult decision as he paired up two of his most powerful singers: Chantelle Padden and Grace Holden. They sang Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson – the battle was extremely close and Olly struggled to make his choice.
In the end, the coach decided to go with Grace, explaining that he chose her because he believes that they would get more out of working together.

"I was not expecting that at all but I just went out there and did everything that I could to win and I did," Grace said.
But while she couldn't believe she made it through to the semi-finals fans online were left gobsmacked by Olly's decision for entirely different reasons.
absolute travesty that chantelle didn’t get through :/ cos she was already better and had less to learn? make it make sense #TheVoiceUK

Sorry, but Chantelle Padden should have gone through instead #TheVoiceUK pic.twitter.com/DtO6XSdLVs

Chantelle was the better singer by a long way. #TheVoiceUK

Not sure what just happened but @ollymurs must have selective hearing because Chantelle was 💯 better there 🤷🏻♀️ #TheVoiceUK

Chantelle has a smoother more richer voice I feel yet Grace is also good. The harmonies of both singers together are good #TheVoiceUK

#TheVoiceUK Thinking back to Chantelle the country singer - I reckon Olly doesn't know how to coach a country singer. She'd have been better on Tom's team. There's a massive gap in the market for a young country star in UK; that's how Taylor Swift started remember.

Olly was also the last coach on The Voice UK left with the option to steal a contestant, which meant that he had the option to take on one of the other coaches' acts, if they didn't get picked for the semi-finals.
After giving up Chantelle, Olly used his steal to knick Jason Hayles off of Anne-Marie's team.

Tonight's show also teased which celebs the coaches will bring on next week to help prep their teams for the semi-finals.
Olly will be accompanied by James Bay, Anne-Marie by Leigh-Anne Pinnock from Little Mix, while Team Tom will get help from Melanie C and Team Will will have Danny O'Donoghue.
The Voice UK semi-finals begin next Saturday (March 6) at 8:30pm on ITV.
