NYSE-parent ICE posts profit rise on robust trading volumes, hikes dividend
(Reuters) -Intercontinental Exchange reported higher than expected fourth-quarter profit on Thursday, as the New York Stock Exchange parent benefited from strong trading volumes in the energy and options segments. The markets also saw strong trading activity in the reported quarter as the U.S. Federal Reserve continued its monetary easing policy after keeping interest rates high for over a year to tackle inflation. ICE's energy trading volumes rose 15%, with gains across segments including oil and gasoil as well as other crude and refined products.

Thomson Reuters sees revenue growth picking up as AI spending continues
Thomson Reuters on Thursday forecast a pickup in underlying revenue growth over this year and next as it continues to invest in AI-driven products for its legal, accounting and other professional customers. The Toronto-based content and technology company said it expects organic revenue, which strips out the impact of currency moves, acquisitions and asset sales, to rise by 7% to 7.5% in 2025 and 7.5% to 8% in 2026. Adjusted earnings per share of $1.01 beat Wall Street's expectation of 96 cents per share.

(Reuters) -Honeywell is splitting into three independently listed companies, breaking up one of America's last standing conglomerates just months after activist investor Elliott Management took a $5 billion stake in the industrial giant. Honeywell shares fell nearly 4% after the company forecast downbeat 2025 results and some experts suggested gains from the separation could take time to materialize. The company said on Thursday it would separate its aerospace and automation businesses into separate entities, alongside its previously announced spin-off of the advanced materials unit.
