Vigil held for Elk Grove officer killed in suspected DUI crash

The Elk Grove police officer who was struck by a wrong-way driver early Friday morning on Highway 99 has died, according to Police Chief Timothy Albright. A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of DUI in connection with the crash. The officer, identified as Ty Lenehan, had been riding a motorcycle on the way to work when hit by the wrong-way driver and was a six-year veteran of the force, Albright said. At a vigil Friday evening organized by the Elk Grove Police Department Chief's Advisory Board, several dozen community members gathered in support of the department outside police headquarters.
