Vigil Held in Dublin for Urumqi Apartment Fire Victims

A vigil was held in Dublin, Ireland, on November 27 after 10 people were killed in a fire at a high-rise residential building in Urumqi, China, the previous week.

The deaths prompted protests across China against the country’s strict COVID restrictions after it was reported building had been under lockdown for weeks. Urumqi officials have denied that the restrictions contributed to the deaths.
