Will Peter Jackson Direct An Episode Of Doctor Who?

‘Doctor Who’ showrunner Steven Moffat has been pestering Peter Jackson – sorry, Sir Peter Jackson – to direct an episode of the show for some time now.

But could he be closer than ever? It looks like he’s now sending the Doctor himself to get heavy with the Hobbit helmsman.

In a rather marvellous sketch posted by Jackson on his Facebook page, while casually polishing his Oscars he and his daughter are visited by Peter Capaldi’s Doctor.

Much like Neville Chamberlain, he has in his hand a piece of paper – seemingly a binding contract to get Jackson to sign himself up for a stint in Cardiff, where they make the BBC sci-fi show.

They chuck a Dalek in for good measure too, as Jackson chips off to catch up with The Walking Dead.

So as amusing as all this is… you have to wonder… is it now on the cards?

Last year, Moffat said: “He’s still incredibly busy on The Hobbit.

“I’ve spoken to him face to face, and he would like to do one. He accepts that there’s no money and that there’s no time, and it would have to be when he’s available – and I don’t think he’s even been available enough to answer our emails of late!

“I think it will probably happen at some point.”

Now that 'The Hobbit’ is all overt, maybe that point is approaching.
