Here’s what the Vegas odds say about the Kansas City Chiefs-Tennessee Titans game

If there is one team that has given Chiefs coach Andy Reid fits over an illustrious career, it’s the one he’s set to face Sunday.

The Titans are 8-2 against Reid-coached teams dating back to his time in Philadelphia, and that’s even after the Chiefs beat the Titans in the AFC Championship Game in January 2020.

So what?

The history isn’t swaying the Vegas odds — the Chiefs are still favored 4 1/2 points against the Titans on Sunday in a high-profile matchup with two heavy hitters in the AFC. That’s despite the historical data, despite the fact the Chiefs are the road team and despite the Titans having a better record.

Heck, the Titans on Monday beat the Bills, who clobbered the Chiefs one week earlier.

Nevertheless, the streak marches on. The Chiefs might be just 3-3 in the standings, but they have been favored in every game this season.

The oddsmakers expect a high-scoring game, too. OK, a really high-scoring game. The over-under is set at 57 1/2 points, which is a full touchdown more than any other game in the NFL in Week 7. The Broncos and Browns matchup on Thursday, by contrast, had an over/under set at 40 points.

Of note here: Four of the six Chiefs games this season have hit the over, and the same for the Titans. Only two teams have hit the over more often — the Cowboys and the Rams.

The Chiefs have covered the line in two of the past three weeks — after being just 1-10 against the spread in their previous 11 regular season games dating back to last year.
