Yahoo Movies Varun Dhawan, Samatha Ruth Prabhu’s Indian Version of Russo Brothers Prime Video ‘Citadel’ Series Sets Title, Reveals Cast (EXCLUSIVE)
Prime Video has revealed a title and the extended cast for the Indian instalment of “Citadel,” the espionage action series created by the Russo brothers.
The Indian series within the “Citadel” universe will be called “Citadel: Honey Bunny.” As previously announced, Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu will lead the cast. Prabhu will play Honey and Dhawan portray Bunny.

The production is led by renowned creator duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (together known as Raj & DK), who are the showrunners and directors of the series. The screenplay is written by Sita R. Menon, along with Raj & DK. The duo’s “The Family Man” spy series, the second season of which starred Prabhu, is a smash hit for Prime Video.
“Citadel: Honey Bunny” has a story that “fuses the pulse-pounding elements of a gritty spy action thriller with the heartwarming allure of a love story, all set against the vibrant tapestry of the ’90s,” reads the series description from Prime Video.
The series also features an ensemble cast which includes Kay Kay Menon (“Bambai Meri Jaan”), Simran (“Tiger 3”), Saqib Saleem (“Crackdown”), Sikandar Kher (“Monkey Man”), Soham Majumdar (“Pippa”), Shivankit Parihar (“Aspirants”) and Kashvi Majmundar.
The series is produced by Raj & DK’s D2R Films, Amazon MGM Studios and the Russo brothers’ AGBO. Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot and Scott Nemes from AGBO, alongside David Weil (“Hunters”), executive produce “Citadel: Honey Bunny” and all series within the global “Citadel” universe.
The next series in the “Citadel” universe is Italy’s “Citadel: Diana,” starring Matilda De Angelis.
Following its April 2023 release, the first series of “Citadel” became Prime Video’s second most-watched new original series outside the U.S., and its fourth most-watched worldwide, according to the streamer.
