Vanessa Hudgens Slid Into Cole Tucker's DMs After Meeting Him on Zoom

While Vanessa Hudgens's quarantine might have got off to a shaky start after her controversial comments about coronavirus, things turned around for the actress when she unexpectedly fell in love during the pandemic. While making an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show on Friday, Hudgens opened up about how she met her now-boyfriend Cole Tucker and who made the first move.

"I remember in quarantine I was like, 'Cool, I'm single now and I can't meet anybody, so I guess I'll go on a dating app,'" said Hudgens, who had just broken up with Austin Butler a few months before the pandemic. "But I always said I would never go on a dating app, and then I found myself on a dating app and I was like, 'I hate myself!'"

Hudgens ended up deleting the app and "gave up for a minute" until a friend invited her to join their weekly Zoom meditation group.

"I get on the Zoom, and I'm like, 'Who is that?'" Vanessa continued about her first impression of Tucker, revealing that she was the one who initially reached out. "I'm such a go-getter. If I want something or someone, I'm going after them. I fully just slid into his DMs and was like, 'Hey, it was nice to meet you.' I think there is no shame in making the first move."

She added, "If you want it, why wait for someone else to give you what you want?"

Hudgens and Tucker were first linked romantically back in November after they were spotted holding hands during an outing in Los Angeles. Three months later, Vanessa confirmed they were a couple on Valentine's Day, making things Instagram official with a kissing photo.

"It's you, it's me, it's us. @cotuck," she wrote, to which he replied back: "Big love."
