Yes, Vanessa Hudgens, the mastermind behind the Elvis actor’s success, is officially booed up with baseball pro Cole Tucker.
The 34-year-old actress was first linked to her fiancé Cole, 26, in November 2020–and, like all contemporary romances should, it started over Instagram.
The pair haven’t exactly kept their relationship under wraps (they’re very cute on IG.) But, in case you’ve only been hearing about Vanessa’s exes lately, here’s everything to know about Cole and their relationship–from the pop of the question, to the very first Instagram follow.
The couple has already made (a few) public appearances since the engagement.
They went to the Phoenix Open this weekend, and also attended Friday's One Party by Uber on February 12, per PEOPLE. It was their first big appearance as an engaged couple! Vanessa posedt about the event, and reminded her followers that she's "Sliving" (a combination of slaying and living, probably!)
They are each other's forever Valentine's
Of course this Insta-friendly pair had to make a Valentine's Day post. Two years after their first Valentine's IG (more on that later), Vanessa shared another super cute pic from what looks like the pair's engagement party on IG on February 14, 2023.
"Real magnetic love is out there. What a journey it was to get here but so worth it to get to my forever @cotuck 🥰," wrote Vanessa. "Happy Valentine’s Day❤️"
They got engaged some time in 2022.
In February 2023, TMZ Sports reported that the couple got engaged back in 2022. Vanessa confirmed the report a few days later, posting an absolutely adorable engagement picture on Instagram on February 10, 2022, in a combined post with Cole. It looks like they celebrated in Paris!
"YES!" The Tick, Tick...BOOM star wrote in the caption. "We couldn't be happier."
Cole plays professional baseball.
Cole, who’s originally from Arizona, is a right fielder for the Reno Aces, a minor league baseball team. However, according to the MLB website, he was invited for spring training this year with the Colorado Rockies.
Cole has played in Major League Baseball before. He was drafted at 18 years old–the 24th overall pick!–and made his MLB debut in 2019 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In May 2022, he was reassigned to the minor league.
Vanessa can’t make it to all of his games, but she’s def been to a few based on IG. Plus, she sends Cole good luck texts before he plays, an insider told US Weekly. Aww.
The pair had a pandemic meet-cute over Zoom
Vanessa told Entertainment Tonight that she and Cole met in a Zoom meditation group, where she immediately noticed him.
"I think that I just saw him, and I was with my girlfriend and I was like, ‘Who is that?’'' Vanessa told TODAY.
Vanessa basically stared Cole down while she was supposed to be meditating. In a classic Zoom miscommunication, Tucker originally thought Vanessa was staring at him because he had something on his face.
“It’s the ultimate modern day love story,” Vanessa said.
Vanessa made the first move.
Instead of getting her Zen on during that Zoom meditation, Vanessa was scoping out her new love interest.
"Meanwhile, I’m just like, 'Who this boy be?'" Hudgens told TODAY.
She followed Cole on Instagram, he slid into the DMs, and the rest is history. This is truly a 2020 period piece!
They went Instagram official on Valentine’s Day 2021.
In 2020, Vanessa hinted she might be seeing someone over Instagram with a cryptic “date night” post on her feed.
However, the couple remained mostly under speculation until Valentine’s Day 2021. Later, Vanessa revealed over Instagram that they officially started dating in December 2020.
“It’s you, it’s me, it’s us,” Vanessa wrote in the caption. It’s adorable, is what it is.
They (probably) golf together.
In addition to watching the sport, Cole seems to go golfing a lot, and Vanessa recently posted a picture of her practicing at the driving range. The pair has posted pictures at a golf course before–so it could be a regular activity.
Going outside and spending up to four hours with your man? Golfing sounds like an ideal date if you ask me.
They also go to karaoke–so it’s clear this couple like supporting each other’s interests.
This couple loves to gush about each other.
In addition to lots of adorable couple pics on their social media pages, the Tick, Tick…Boom! actress has told multiple news outlets about how happy she is, and how great her new man is for her, and he returns the favor.
While talking to reporters at spring training in 2021, Cole said, “I got a girlfriend and she’s cool. She’s awesome, I love her. She’s great. She’ll be around. You will see her.”
Later, in March 2021, Vanessa visited Cole in Florida, per PEOPLE. The baseball player also constantly hypes up Vanessa via IG. He even posted one of just her with the caption, “The best.”
Vanessa loves telling Cole “I’ll stop the world and melt with you,” over Instagram.
She’s posted a few pics of the pair with that caption. Perhaps the Modern English jam is their song?
His net worth is not totally known.
Some sources estimate Cole’s net worth to be around $5 million. According to USA Today, minor league baseball players average a salary around $58,000 per year.
However, Cole probably made more during his time playing for the Pittsburgh Pirates. According to FanGraphs Baseball, the minimum salary for a player on the team is around $720,000.
My condolences to Zanessa fans everywhere, but I think this couple is built to last!
