Vanessa told Women's Health in 2018 that she works out six days a week, and relies on accountability partners. "To be self-motivated consistently is almost a daydream, she said. "I reach out to friends to hold me accountable."

She mixes up her workouts, and does ballet, Pilates, SoulCycle, yoga, hiking, and Training Mate (a circuit-based HIIT developed by an Australian rugby player). SoulCycle is a particular favorite. "Put me on a bike in a room with loud music, and I'm happy," she said. "It's like dancing without the stress of worrying if you look good."

She has also done some serious sweating at celebrity gym Dogpound in New York.

As for her diet, Vanessa told Women's Health that she's a pescatarian, and switched to the diet once she watched Paul McCartney's PETA documentary, Glass Walls. “I used to be the girl who ate bacon for breakfast every single morning," she said.

She's also done keto. Mostly, her diet is plant-based, with arugula, cashew cheese, almond milk, oat milk, eggs, avocados, ceviche, acai berries, blueberries, and bananas filling her fridge. She's a big fan of healthy fats like avocados: "If I'm not getting enough, my body holds on to calories. We've been trained to think that fats are bad, but they're so good—a source of energy and sustenance that keeps you going through the day. That's the only way I can not eat carbs."

She has also tried intermittent fasting, with a goal of feeling healthier, beyond slimming down.
