Van Gogh Painting Back on Display in London Gallery After Anti-Oil Activist Threw Soup

Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” painting was put back on display after anti-oil protesters threw soup on the painting on Friday, October 14, in London, England, according to the National Gallery.

Climate activists from Just Stop Oil threw the soup then glued themselves to the wall below the painting, footage showed.

The museum said that there was “some minor damage to the frame but the painting is unharmed” and that the two people were arrested.

Video provided to Storyful by John Hall on Saturday shows the painting back on display at the London gallery.
