UTA Signs Laurent Bouzereau, Documentarian and Author of ‘Spielberg: The First Ten Years’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Award winning documentary filmmaker Laurent Bouzereau and his Nedland Media banner have signed with UTA for representation.

News of Bouzereau and UTA’s partnership comes in anticipation of the French-American filmmaker’s upcoming documentary on legendary composer John Williams, produced by Amblin Documentaries, Imagine Documentaries and Nedland Media.

Bouzereau’s recent credits include “Mama’s Boy,” the HBO documentary based on Dustin Lance Black’s best-selling memoir; HBO and Amblin’s “Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind,” which debuted at Sundance in 2020; and the acclaimed Netflix docuseries “Five Came Back,” which featured Emmy-winning narration by Meryl Streep.

His latest project is the feature-length documentary “Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones & Harrison Ford.” The Lucasfilm and Disney+ production will launch on the streamer on Dec. 1 alongside the franchise’s latest installment “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.”

Bouzereau is best known for his longtime collaborations with filmmakers like Steven Spielberg, directing several “making-of” documentaries for his films, including 2022’s “The Fablemans” and 2021’s “West Side Story.” That partnership recently culminated in the release of the book, “Spielberg: The First Ten Years,” a definitive retrospective that explores the first decade of Spielberg’s vaunted career.

Bouzereau is also in the process of completing “The De Palma Decade: Cinema’s Doubles, Voyeurs, and Psychic Teens,” centered on the work of Brian De Palma. The book is scheduled for publication in September 2024 by Running Press.

In addition to UTA, Bouzereau will continue to be managed by Heroes and Villains Entertainment for his scripted career. Bouzereau runs the Los Angeles-based production company Nedland Media with partner Markus Keith, developing and producing both scripted and unscripted projects, as well as film and brand marketing for the major studios.
