US Weapons Shipment Arrives in Kyiv

The first shipment of the military aid provided by the US to the Ukrainian Armed Forces arrived at the Boryspil International Airport in Kyiv in the early hours of January 22.

According to the US Embassy in Kyiv, this shipment included 200,000 pounds of “lethal aid,” including “ammunition for the front line defenders of Ukraine.”

“We are utilizing all available security cooperation tools to help Ukraine bolster its defenses in the face of Russian aggression,” US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted.

In a statement issued on January 19, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said, “If any Russian military forces move across the Ukrainian border, that’s a renewed invasion, and it will be met with a swift, severe, and united response from the United States and our Allies.” Credit: Ukrainian Military TV via Storyful
