UK's Sunak 'shocked' by allegations against Mone

STORY: Michele Mone, who sits as a Conservative in parliament's upper chamber, the House of Lords, has been accused of having links to PPE Medpro which won contracts worth 200 million pounds ($244 million) in personal protective equipment.

According to local media Mone had brought MedPro to the attention of ministers at the beginning of the pandemic.

A report in British newspaper The Guardian has accused her of profiting personally from the business, charges her lawyers have previously denied.

Mone has since taken a leave of absence from the House of Lords.
