Curtis Blaydes vs. Derrick Lewis UFC Fight Night main event canceled

The main event at UFC Las Vegas 15 is canceled a day before the scheduled fight, ESPN’s Ariel Helwani first reported. UFC confirmed that the fight was off and being rescheduled due to a positive COVID-19 test.

Curtis Blaydes (14-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) was slated to fight Derrick Lewis (24-7 MMA, 15-5 UFC) in a heavyweight bout at UFC Fight Night on Saturday. It was scheduled to take place at the Apex in Las Vegas, but Blaydes reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday morning and was removed from the main event.

UFC is hoping to reschedule the heavyweight fight for Dec. 12 at UFC 256, per ESPN.

The co-main event will now move into the lead anchor on the card, per ESPN’s Brett Okamoto. It is a light heavyweight bout between Anthony Smith and Devin Clark.

The main card is now:

  • Devin Clark vs. Anthony Smith

  • Josh Parisian vs. Parker Porter

  • Miguel Baeza vs. Takashi Sato

  • Bill Algeo vs. Spike Carlyle

Blaydes is on a four-fight win streak including victories against Junior dos Santos and Alexander Volkov. Lewis has three wins in a row, most recently a knockout against Aleksei Oleinik.
