UFC on ESPN 25 video: Bruno Silva brutalizes Wellington Turman for ground-and-pound knockout

·1 min read

Bruno Silva showed off a nasty ground striking game on Saturday when he smashed Wellington Turman’s lights out at UFC on ESPN 25.

Silva (20-6 MMA, 1-0 UFC) needed less than one round to take out Turman (16-5 MMA, 1-3 UFC) at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. When he got top position, he started chipping away with accurate punches from inside the guard. His opponent seemed content to remain in the position, and that just allowed the Brazilian to open up as he kept landing shots for the clean knockout.

Check out the replay of the finish, which came at the 4:45 mark of Round 1 in the middleweight bout, below (via Twitter):

For Turman, it was an emotional moment to get his hand raised inside the octagon for the first time. His UFC debut has been a long time in the making, but was delayed when he received a two-year suspension from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

He made up for some lost time with a shining performance, and he said in his post-fight interview with Michael Bisping that he hopes there’s more to come.
