Tyler McGillivary Launches SS22 Collection "Unnatural"

New York-based designer Tyler McGillivary has unveiled her Spring/Summer 2022 collection “Unnatural,” presenting a truly bold assemblage of feminine and quirky pieces, boasting versatile silhouettes and eye-catching patterns.

Inspired by a myriad of motifs and icons, the Washington, D.C. born creative’s latest line mimics the kitchy-ness of early cartoons and digital art’s experimental tendencies. Sourced and ethically produced in India, Hong Kong and New York City, “Unnatural” is comprised of chic canary yellow off-the-shoulder knit tops, alongside colorful flower-covered dresses, while punchy red florals cover otherwise neutral long sleeve shirts.

Elsewhere, dizzying arrays of crimson and navy blue make their mark on backless maxi dresses, encouraging an evening of adventure. Driven by the beauty of land art and meticulously crafted sculptures created by Andy Goldsworthy, McGillivary toyed with the concept of wearable nature by flattening out three dimensional physical elements into 2D textiles made of wildflower and foliage. Dawn to the rich hues of purple, green, yellow and orange in these textiles and developed, the SS22 collection is grounded in these lush colors.
