Two People and Great Dane Rescued as Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Quinnipiac River

Two people and a dog were rescued after the plane they were in crashed into the Quinnipiac River in New Haven on June 30.

This footage, streamed live by Brandon Finck, shows emergency crews boating over to the partially submerged plane.

Local authorities said the two occupants and their dog, a Great Dane, were uninjured.

Local reports citing officials, said the plane was bound for Massachusetts when it began to have problems with its engine. The pilot spoke with tower operations and were told to try and land at Tweed Airport in New Haven. This was not possible, so the pilot landed in the river. Credit: Brandon Finck via Storyful
