‘Tuca & Bertie’ Renewed for Season 3 at Adult Swim

Tuca & Bertie” has been renewed for Season 3 at Adult Swim.

The show debuted its second season on Adult Swim on June 13. The first season had aired on Netflix, but the streamer canceled the show in 2019. The final two episodes of Season 2 will air on Aug. 8 and Aug. 15 respectively. Adult Swim has also secured the international rights for Seasons 2 and and 3, now making the show available globally via the brand.

Tuca (Tiffany Haddish) and Bertie (Ali Wong) are best friends, and they’re both full of ghosts. Bertie is busy excavating her inner ghouls with the help of a therapist, while Tuca prefers to stuff hers behind the toilet. She’ll deal with them later, right now she’s just too busy trying not to be single anymore. Meanwhile, Speckle (Steven Yeun) is building a new house but soon finds he’s driven to the brink of insanity.

Along with Haddish, Wong, and Yeun, the voice cast of the series includes Nicole Byer, Richard E. Grant, Reggie Watts, and Pamela Adlon.

“Tuca & Bertie” is created and executive produced by Lisa Hanawalt, with Raphael Bob-Waksberg, Noel Bright, Steven A. Cohen, Haddish, and Wong also serving as executive producers. The series is produced by Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company with the animation being done at Shadowmachine.

Other current Adult Swim animated series include “Rick and Morty,” “Birdgirl,” “YOLO: Crystal Fantasy,” and “JJ Villard’s Fairy Tales.” The cabler also still airs network cornerstones like “Robot Chicken” and “Squidbillies.” Adult Swim is also currently prepping the anime series “Blade Runner: Black Lotus.”
