Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], December 6 (ANI): Commenting upon his party's performance in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Nizamabad, Arvind Dharmapuri on Saturday said that the party will wait and watch what Telangana Rashtriya Samithi (TRS) government will do.

"In the recent GHMC Elections of Hyderabad, TRS Party has emerged as the single largest party with victory on 55 seats, BJP has gained very close victory at the second place with 48 Seats, AIMIM has maintained its tag at 44," Dharmapuri told ANI.

"TRS has more than 30 ex-officio votes in its favour. We will wait and watch what TRS government will do after emerging as single largest party. All know that TRS and AIMIM have a deep friendship and they are also in the Government," he added.

BJP made major gains in GHMC polls as it won 48 seats, seven less than the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) which emerged as the single largest party winning 55 seats. The TRS won fewer seats than it won in the 2016 elections when it had won a majority in the elections to GHMC.

The GHMC results have been declared on 149 of 150 seats with results in the Neredmet division held. Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM won 44 seats and Congress won two seats. (ANI)
