After Travis Kelce’s game-winning touchdown, a Chiefs fan thanked his mom

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s mom became a bit of a celebrity on the NFL’s Wild Card weekend when she managed to see both her sons play even though they were in different time zones.

Kelce’s brother, Jason, and the Eagles lost their playoff game, so over the weekend he was in Kansas City (and made a stop for barbecue). Jason Kelce was at Arrowhead Stadium for the Chiefs-Bills AFC Divisional playoff game with his mom, Donna.

They were undoubtedly thrilled to see Travis Kelce score the game-winning touchdown, along with most of the 73,242 spectators at Arrowhead. One of those Chiefs fans was Gondoe Mulbah, who had earlier spotted Donna Kelce in a suite.

So after Travis Kelce got two feet in the end zone with the ball to end possibly the greatest NFL playoff game ever, Mulbah sought out Donna Kelce to thank her for Travis.

“I remembered that she went to both of her son’s game last week when Jason was playing in Tampa and she flew to KC to see Travis and thought that was pretty cool of her to do that!” Mulbah wrote in an Instagram message to The Star.

“Then Sunday’s game she happen to be in the same section as me but in the suite. So I was like, ‘I’m gonna say something to her! Give credit where credit is due!’ Looked like there was a bunch of family in there so I didn’t want to take up all her time since I was a random stranger to her lol”

For the record, this was out of the ordinary for Mulbah.

“Now have I walked up to other people’s mothers and thanked them? lol” he wrote. “No…but making new friends is fun for me.”
