A key target for Antonio Conte at Tottenham, Spence even moved to aim a dig at Warnock when Forest won the play-offs.

“I had a few run-ins with Djed, to be honest, as managers do,” he said.

“I had one or two chats with him and a few words were said. So the lads said, he had a bit of a go at me.

“But I’m glad to see it seems the penny has dropped because, like I said to him face to face, it could go either way.

“I told him, ‘you could be playing for Bromley next year, or you could be in the Premier League’.

“It looks like he’s going to be in the Premier League, so good luck to him.”

Tottenham could STILL move for Alessandro Bastoni

Friday 1 July 2022 07:43 , Jonathan Gorrie

Even if Tottenham complete a loan deal for Clement Lenglet of Barcelona, Antonio Conte could STILL try and move for Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni.

The Athletic’s Charlie Eccleshare has hinted an attempt to sign the Italian - one of Conte’s big targets this summer - could still be launched despite the big spending in other departments.

“Even someone like Bastoni, I wouldn’t rule that out. I know his agent has come out and said he loves Inter and everything, but that’s happened before and then moved, partly they don’t want to seem like they’re agitating for a move, but I still think, maybe I’m hearing what I want to hear, but I don’t think that deal is totally dead,” Eccleshare said to the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel.

"There comes a point where he's going to have to turn all that potential into something. To be fair if anyone can do it it's probably Antonio Conte.
