Jamie Carragher labels Romelu Lukaku a ‘timebomb’ at Chelsea
19:22 , Jonathan Gorrie
Writing for The Daily Telegraph, Jamie Carragher gave his view on Romelu Lukaku’s time at Chelsea.
“All the talk about how a couple of years working with this weekend’s opponent, Antonio Conte, have elevated Lukaku’s game tactically has proven premature. Thomas Tuchel is managing the same striker who prompted Manchester United to run out of patience and sell him to Inter Milan.
“That’s why I can’t help but think there is a timebomb in the Chelsea dressing room, with the player and club already losing patience with each other. The recent furore over the interview Lukaku gave to Italian media was a hint of what might follow.”

Rivlado backs Roberto Firmino for a move to Barcelona
18:34 , Jonathan Gorrie
Speaking to Betfair, Brazilian legend Rivaldo has tipped Roberto Firmino for a move to Barcelona.
“Although he already plays for a big European club, I am sure that any player dreams of playing for a club like Barcelona, ââand Roberto Firmino should be no different, especially in the current situation where he has been playing less at Liverpool.
“Arriving at Barcelona and establishing himself as one of the stars of the team would be great for Firmino.
“And that could enable him to be called up again for Brazil in a World Cup year. So, I see this transfer as very possible and it could benefit all parties given the current situation.
“Liverpool will be able to receive some money and get him of their wage bill while Barcelona can bring in a great striker for a reasonable price. The player himself can arrive in a team where he will be one of the main players and return to being an option in the Brazilian national team ahead of the World Cup.”

The Bayern Munich star won Fifa’s The Best crown earlier in the week but will soon have the Norwegian chasing down his throne.
Former Germany star Klinsmann told the Bundesliga website: “When I see Erling Haaland I see the young version of Lewandowski in a certain way.
“We will see how this plays out over the next few years. I think Lewandowski still has the edge, because of his experience and also because of the titles he wins year in, year out.
“He's a step ahead there, but Haaland will definitely be the future and it will be very interesting to follow his path over the next few years.”

Thomas Frank is not planning on making any January signings to supplement Brentford’s strong start to the season.

“I do think a player or two would bring extra energy to the squad but I don't think it's essential. But we are always in the market and if a player comes up we will do it.

He declared: “We started conversations with Ousmane and his agents back in July, more or less. In all this time, these six or seven months, we have spoken, we have had dialogue, we have made various offers.
“We looked at ways that he could stay with us. All those offers were turned down by his agents. The fact that he is not in the squad is no more than a consequence of this whole process.
“The conclusion in sporting terms, as evaluated by the coaching staff, is that we don’t want players who are not committed. It’s not the club that takes this decision – the coach does – but he has all our support and we think it is an entirely coherent decision.”
