'Our Town's Going': Dixie Fire Ravages Greenville in California's North

Authorities urged people to leave Greenville, California, warning of imminent danger from the Dixie Fire as the blaze moved into the town and burned structures on August 4.

The Plumas County Sheriff said at 4:30 pm local time that residents in Greenville were in imminent danger and must leave.

“Our town’s going, going, gone,” Teresa J Clark says in these videos posted to Facebook showing fires close to buildings in Greenville.

Social media videos taken in Greenville showed buildings destroyed by the fire.

Cal Fire said the Dixie Fire was very active and wind gusts had helped the blaze spot ahead of containment lines. Fire crews were engaged in structure protection in Greenville. The wildfire was over 278,000 acres and considered 35 percent contained. Credit: Teresa J Clark via Storyful
