The Only Way Is Essex star Ferne McCann has opened up about the tragic miscarriage she had before her current pregnancy.

The reality star, who announced her second pregnancy earlier this month, revealed the heartbreaking news during a couples counselling session with her fiancé Lorri Haines on last night's (March 22) episode of Ferne McCann: First Time Mum.

"We found out that I was pregnant, we were so excited and it just felt like the right time to expand our family," Ferne told the camera.

The episode then cut to Ferne and Lorri's session with their therapist, where Ferne said: "Very early on [in the pregnancy], we had a miscarriage as well."

The TV personality continued: "When I was five weeks, I started bleeding and I was desperately scouring the internet, because I didn't want to admit what I knew deep down was actually happening and that was my body rejecting and letting go of this baby.

"I was really, really upset. I think Lorri found it really hard to comprehend."

In an interview with OK! magazine for her pregnancy announcement earlier his month, Ferne said that she suspected she was pregnant again during a trip to India with Lorri, before officially taking a test when she got back to the UK.

"I just sat on the toilet with the door open and was like, 'I knew it! It's positive!'. It wasn't this romantic, tears streaming-down-my-face thing," she said.

"We were so happy. It wasn't planned, but it wasn't not planned," Ferne continued. "For us both being parents, they're little miracles and it was such a positive moment and something to look forward to for us."
