Toronto Neighborhood Digs Out After Winter Storm Hits Ontario

Toronto authorities and residents engaged in serious plowing efforts on January 18, a day after a heavy snowstorm hit southern Ontario.

Toronto resident Ahmed Patel posted video to Twitter showing his community digging out from under feet of snow on January 18.

“This was a neighborhood effort. No plows, just all of us neighbors digging everybody out,” Patel says in the video.

The Toronto Transit Commission said the majority of its fleet of buses were stuck in the snow during Monday’s winter storm. Several highways were closed due to stalled vehicles.
