Here are the top high school football performers across week two in South Mississippi
The second week of high school football on the Coast is in the books and athletes across the region turned in big outings.
These were the top performers from the opening week games.
Benny Williams, Bay High: Williams scored two rushing touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass in the Tigers’ loss to St. Stanislaus.
Malcolm Gowdy, D’Iberville: Gowdy recorded 11 tackles and a tackle for loss in the loss against Gautier.
Kelvin Beavers, Gautier: Beavers took over at quarterback for the Gators and completed 26 passes for 221 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-20 win over D’Iberville. Also had 48 rush yards and a score.
Solomon Baggett, Gautier: Baggett had 171 all-purpose yards and two touchdowns for the Gators.
Brandon Gautier, George County: Gautier ran the ball 20 times for 127 yards in the Rebels’ 41-28 win over Greene County.
Jacobe Street, George County: Street picked up 76 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Nico Williams, Gulfport: Williams threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-14 win over Vancleave.
Cam Joseph, Gulfport: Joseph caught five passes for 120 yards and a touchdown.
Dylan Moran, Hancock: Moran completed 9-of-12 passes for 218 yards and three touchdowns in a 52-27 win over Moss Point.
Neil Acker, Hancock: Acker caught four passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Zach Gullung, Hancock: Gullung ran the ball 13 times and picked up 97 yards with two touchdowns.
Will Berglind, Ocean Springs: Berglind threw for 137 yards and scored once in the air and on the ground in a 49-6 win over Scotlandville (La.).
Will Smith, Ocean Springs: Smith had 78 rushing yards and a 15-yard rushing touchdown for the Greyhounds.
Silas Corder, Pascagoula: Corder completed 10 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for another 100 yards and a score in the Panthers’ 34-6 win over East Central.
Ladd Scriber, Pass Christian: Scriber threw for 110 yards and three touchdowns in the 35-0 win over Purvis.
Chris Davis, Picayune: Davis had three rushing touchdowns in the 36-35 overtime loss to Catholic (La.).
Noreel White, St. Martin: White threw for 40 yards and rushed for 150 with three touchdowns in a 54-31 loss to Petal.
Tykevian Wells, St. Martin: Wells had 149 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Ian Gonzalez Rioz, St. Stanislaus: The senior rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns, plus completed 14 passes for 150 yards and two more scores in a 51-21 win over Bay High.
Ethan Galloway, St. Stanislaus: Galloway caught seven passes for 84 yards and a score.
