This year there were several contenders when it came to the biggest business stories of 2021. As economies around the world reopened, businesses faced a significant labour shortage and many companies struggled to hire and retain workers, stalling the economic recovery. Supply chain disruptions persisted through 2021, leading to a shortage of goods, congestions at ports and higher prices for many items. Inflation has also emerged as a top concern for Canadians, as the cost of many goods continues to rise at a rapid pace.
